This web site is devoted to our VW transporter and the adventures we have had in it. It was built in Sept 1963 and served the United Glass Works factory fire brigade in Mannheim Germany from new until it was put out to pasture 27 years later. It had 9,345 kms on it at that time, which works out to 500 kms per year average. The van is now nearly 60 years old and we, the second owners, have driven it over 100,000 kms. It still has the original paint and engine.
